That Room.
The basic idea of the story we as a group came up with, was to have a mother and her two daughters, one older than the other, Erin , 10 and Isabelle, 14. Their father is not around as they don’t think. The family seems quite normal until we get the sense that something isn’t right. A room at the end of the upstairs corridor is forbidden. Always locked and never to be seen inside. As the children are at the age, they are quite playful and explorative and wonder about the door.
In the first 2 minutes, we see Erin and Isabelle playing and Isabelle telling Erin off as she was about to open the forbidden door. We then see a photograph that Erin finds and it has a family photo, of the girls, the mother and their father, however their father has been scratched out with what seems to be a sharp knife as does all their faces apart from their mothers. Erin thinks nothing of it but Isabelle becomes confused, why isn’t her dad here? What are the scratches?
We then have a shot of Erin and Isabelle’s mother at the graveyard, we cross-cut these shots to see both things going on, the mum looks abnormal staring at the graves.
This is good Saraaah, our casting is good I think and I like the idea of the dad being a cannibal! Shannon Leahy
