Techniques for First Two Minutes

Techniques used to create our film

·                     Establishing shot – showing where the action is going to take place.

·                     POV shot – allowing the audience to sympathise with the characters.

·                     Panning shot  - show what is going on, in a bigger picture

Over the shoulder the shot / shot reverse shot – to show a conversation from both points of    view

·                     Close up – to show significance and facial expressions.

Extreme close up to show the key prop – photo – to show that this is a key prop and also allowing the audience to experience what the children are.

·                     Long angled shots

·                     Canted angle shot of the child’s face to show confusion.

·                     Non-diegetic music – sinister/horror

·                     Mise- en- scene – key prop (the photo)

·                     Costume – to show age differences and status

·                     Transition of fade to black – at the end of our first 2 minutes.

·                     Location and setting – starts off at a grave yard, this is where murders usually take place. However there is then a shot cut to children playing in day light, this also conveys a contrast.
